Who this course is aimed for:
This climbing course is designed for new comers to the sport who want to learn the skills required for the using top rope and bouldering areas. It takes place over 6 different sessions a week apart. You would be part of a group of up to six, giving you an opportunity to meet new people who have also just starting climbing. This course is perfect if you are attending on your own or with a group.
What this course provides:
This course offers an in depth learning experience covering the fundamentals of climbing and using an indoor wall. You will be taught the skills required to use the top rope wall and bouldering area safely and unsupervised. During the summer months, your instructor will also arrange an outside session for the group which usually takes place on the Dartmoor. But obviously, this is dependant upon the weather!

- Warming up
- Knowing the Equipment
- How the put on a harness
- How to tie directly into your harness
- How to belay
- How to hold a falling climber and how to lower a climber
- Climbing movement technique
- Top rope grades and bouldering grades
- Bouldering
- Outside session (weather dependant)
Duration: One 2 hour session every week for a total of 6 weeks.
Price: £20.00 per person per session.
Min number of participants: : For this course to run we require a minimum of two people, but one person can also book for this course, they will be placed with up to six other people.
Max number of participants: : 6 people.
Min Age: 14 years.
Experience Required: No experience required.

Extra Info:
After your weekly 2 hour session you are free to continue using the bouldering area unsupervised but use of the top rope area unsupervised is dependant upon your instructor finding you safe and competent to do so. For young people between ages 14-17 yrs attending this course, we will need parents/guardians to come in and sign a Parental Consent Form and an unsupervised under 18 form. The Parental Consent Form allows the young person to participate in the course if the parents/guardians are not there. The unsupervised under 18 form give parental permission for them to use the bouldering area and top rope areas unsupervised, providing their instructor finds them competent to do so.
