What to do on a wet Wednesday, camping with a 6 year old and the dog....go to the Barn Climbing Centre! Ideal activity, booked private instruction for my son and wife whilst the dog and I had a cup of tea (don’t judge, it’s a tough role!) - they loved it, Daniel the instructor was very helpful and finished the session with a play on the boulder! Top entertainment!

Have been going to The Barn for a few years on and off, the staff are very welcoming, knowledgeable and make a cracking cuppa! Everything you need to know about indoor climbing and bouldering all under one roof. The centre has climbs for all ages and experience levels, as well as its own free-standing boulder. Courses of all types are run here, there’s one-to-one tuition, they also run outdoor climbing courses, all at a very good price. I love it!

Huge thanks to Ollie for pushing our 3 children to new heights. He was so enthusiastic and encouraging, always trying to teach them new techniques. Will definitely come back.

I’ve climbed at The Barn 3 times week for most of 7years since I started climbing and I have so many good things to say about it and the people that make it but I wanted to write a concise review.

It’s a wonderful place to climb, learn and hang out. I can’t recommend them highly enough. Thank You!

We decided to take our two boys aged 6yrs and 10yrs to try the climbing. We decided to go for the taster session with an instructor. What a brilliant time we had. Selina the instructor was fab and made our day so enjoyable. Great instruction and felt safe. Would recommend the barn for a great day out. We are now considering taking the beginners course it was so good. All the staff were very friendly.Thank you so much for a brilliant experience . Can’t say enough about this great place and experience. Thank you ❤️

Myself and my climbing partner visited on a recommendation. We were not disappointed!

We were instantly welcomed by a member of staff who was in the carpark on their way out. Then on going inside, met by another friendly member of staff who welcomed us and gave us a relaxed brief on the centre.

All the staff there are very helpful and friendly and make you feel very welcome there.

The centre itself is relatively small but the price reflects this. The sport routes are clearly well thought out and professionally graded. They have everything from 3 grade beginner ‘slopes’, to 7c overhung fingery impossibilities. They vary in styles enough to keep you constantly entertained. They have plenty of top ropes, leadable routes and an auto belay (maybe even 2?). On first looking at the place you think you’ll run out of climbs quite quickly, but they just seem to keep coming out of somewhere!!

The bouldering is also brilliant. A free standing large boulder with cave like problems, and almost all routes you can top out on and stand triumphantly on top of the boulder!

It’s very relaxed there yet they seemed to always have a member of staff out on the floor to help if needed or offer advice.

We ended up staying for over 4 hours.

We will go again. Top marks.

Looking for some indoor bouldering while on holiday (raining!) and we were not disappointed. The man was welcoming and really helpful (advised me on new climbing shoes as mine were falling apart). The central boulder is great fun, with lots of challenges both with overhang routes and puzzle vertical. Being able to top out was also great. If you are a beginner they run intro sessions for ropes and belaying, their peanut butter brownies were amazing, and there’s a great little clothing shop too. Beginners and experienced climbers will find something for their level here.

This is by far the friendliest and most welcoming climbing centre I’ve ever visited. Staff are polite and enthusiastic and have always impressed me with the professional and patient manner in which they help beginners learn the skills needed to stay safe and progress in this sport. There are a wide range of bouldering, top-roping and lead routes to challenge all levels and routes are changed frequently. The coffee and panini are great too. My whole family loves this place.
